Morrisville To Replace Water Mains
The work, with the help of a state grant, is expected to begin in spring 2019.

MORRISVILLE, PA — Water mains in Morrisville are set to be replaced early next year. The Morrisville Municipal Authority has received a state grant that will fund the replacement of the mains.
The work, according to Morrisville officials, is set to begin in spring 2019.
The $180,625 state grant was provided through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Marcellus Legacy Fund. It will help the authority continue its longstanding goal of annually replacing outdated water mains, according to Morrisville Municipal Authority Executive Director John Warenda.

"Our annual goal is to replace a couple thousand feet of water mains that are at the end their service life," Warenda said. "This grant will fully cover one segment of our 2019 plan. The authority is grateful for the state’s assistance."
Warenda said the water main work will be carried out on Centre Street and East Palmer Street beginning in spring.
The Department of Community and Economic Development awarded the Authority’s grant, as well as funds for various other water and sewer projects statewide. Grant monies were collected from gas well fees through local governments and state agencies, according to Gov. Tom Wolf.

"These projects will ensure that vital services are being provided to communities all across the commonwealth," Wolf said in a news release.
The Morrisville Municipal Authority owns and operates a water treatment plant which distributes fresh water to Morrisville residents, as well as some residents in Falls Township and Lower Makefield and a wastewater treatment plant, which serves all residents of Morrisville and Yardley, as well as part of Lower Makefield and Falls Township.
