'Multiple Altercations' Under Investigation At Levittown School

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA —The Bristol Township Police Department is investigating reports of multiple altercations at an alternative school on Wednesday afternoon.

Lt. Sean Cosgrove said police responded around 2:40 p.m. to the Lifeworks School on Apple Tree Drive in the township's Levittown section.

Police officers and school staff were able to control "various physical altercations" without any serious injuries, police said.

Consgrove said that no injuries were reported, but that the investigation was ongoing.

He said that Foundations Behavioral Health —which manages the facility —is coordinating the investigation with the township police.

The school offers academic programs and intensive therapeutic and behavioral support for students with a range of learning and emotional challenges, its website states.

The programs are designed in a trauma-informed manner to cater to students who have faced barriers in accessing education throughout their lives.

Police said that further inquiries would be directed at the school at 215-345-0444.
