Foundation board member John Mulhern, 66, originally of Bristol, was a longtime friend and collaborator of DeGennaro's. During his lifetime, DeGennaro — a Levittown native who played with the Billy Squier Band and Grateful Dead offshoot Kingfish — was known to take young musicians under his wing.
"If you looked at Danny and knew Danny, he just had God-given talent," Mulhern said. "You couldn’t teach Danny. He already knew it."

The foundation was established in 2014 to inspire up-and-coming musicians following DeGennaro's untimely death in 2011. Since 2015, it has been awarding scholarships to students at Bucks County Community College.
The Halloween Bash will be headlined by the AJ Slick Band and feature performances by Jim Mitchell, Casey Welborn and classic rock cover band All Lit Up. Also on the bill are scholarship recipients Bee Niranon and Kieran Corson.
The bash will be from 7 p.m.-1 a.m. at Snipes Farm, at 890 W. Bridge Street in Morrisville. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online.
Sandwiches, beer, wine and mixed drinks will be available for purchase from Stadium Bar and Grille. One dollar from each food and drink item will go to the foundation's mentoring and scholarship program.
Hay rides also will be available for $4. There will be a bonfire, raffles and a costume contest.
