Neshaminy Bus Driver Charged With DUI

LEVITTOWN, PA — A Neshaminy High School bus driver has been charged with DUI following an incident in May, court records show.
Bruce Prendergast Jr., 63, of Levittown, was charged Tuesday with DUI while driving a school vehicle on May 31. It is unclear why the charges came more than two months later.
Prendergast had to be escorted off the bus by school officials, The Bucks County Courier Times reported. That report said Prendergast told authorities he had "just one beer" earlier in the day. While he passed the field sobriety test, his blood alcohol level was found to be 0.059, the Courier Times said.

The legal limit for someone operating a school vehicle is 0.02, according to police.
His preliminary hearing is Aug. 30, according to court documents.
