Neshaminy High Choir 1st Finalist In B101 Christmas Competition

LANGHORNE, PA —Neshaminy High School's choir is the first finalist in the High School Division of B101's 2023 Christmas Choir Competition.

The Select Choir is advancing to the finals of the B101 Christmas Choir Competition on Thursday for their performance of "Carol of the Bells / Wayfaring Stranger."

The choir could earn a grand prize of $5,000 and an invitation to perform their winning song at the Trans-Siberian Orchestra: The Ghosts of Christmas Eve Concert.

The concert will be held at the Wells Fargo Center on Dec. 17 at 3 p.m.

Voting will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and listeners and supporters can vote as many times as they want through the B101.1 website.

B101 listeners can hear the song played on the air during the 11:30 a.m. hour as well as 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Here's How The Voting Works

• Nine semifinalists are selected to compete.
• Three schools are showcased on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (Dec. 4, 5, and 6) with the winners of each daily competition advancing to the finals on Thursday, Dec. 7).
• The first, second, and third place winners (9-12 grade division) will be announced on Friday, Dec. 8 during the morning show with Jenn Ryan and Bill Tafrow, shortly after 7 a.m.

Voting Rules

• Go to www.b101philly.com to vote for your school choir. Voters are presented with options to vote for each competing school for that given day.
• The voting period each day will be from the time all songs are played on B101 (shortly after 7 a.m.) up until 9 p.m. that evening.
• Winners will be announced the following morning during the B101 Morning Show shortly after 7 a.m.

Prizes

• 1st Place: $5,000 and will be invited to perform their winning song at the Trans-Siberian Orchestra: The Ghosts of Christmas Eve Concert at the Wells Fargo Center on Dec. 17 at 3 p.m.
• 2nd Place: $2,000 cash for their school's music department
• 3rd Place: $1,000 cash for their school's music department
