New Details Emerge From Pennsbury School Bus Crash

A Pennsbury school bus with 20 students was struck by a Trenton, N.J., driver, Falls Township police said. Three students suffered injuries.

FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —The Falls Township Police Department has released details regarding the accident involving a Pennsbury School District bus Wednesday afternoon in which three students suffered minor injuries.

On Wednesday afternoon, a 72-year-old Levittown man was driving a Pennsbury School District bus with about 20 students northbound on Bristol Oxford Valley Road in the area of Terrace Road, police said.

The bus was struck by a Honda CRV operated by a 22-year-old Trenton, N.J., man, and his 22-year-old male passenger, also from Trenton, Sgt. Christopher Clark of the Falls Township Police Department said.

The Honda traveled southbound on Bristol Oxford Valley Rd when it struck a series of deep potholes in the lane of travel. The impact caused Honda to enter the oncoming lane where it collided with the bus, police said.

The bus driver along with several students were transported via ambulance to local hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries and were released later in the day Wednesday.

The bus was carrying students from Bucks County Technical High School and Conwell-Egan Catholic High School when the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, school officials said.

The driver and the passenger of the Honda were also transported via ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Police did not state whether any charges are coming from the crash.
