2 Hospitalized After Fire In Levittown Home With No Working Smoke Alarms

A six-bedroom house with 15 residents had a severe kitchen fire early Thursday morning which left the building uninhabitable.

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP, PA — A fire at a recovery house in Bristol Township sent two residents to the hospital and left the building uninhabitable, the fire marshal said Thursday.

Bristol Township Fire Rescue arrived to the home on the 60 block of Mill Drive to find heavy damage to the home, according to Chief, Fire Marshal, and Emergency Management Director Kevin Dippolito.

One of the home's residents made the call upon coming home to find the kitchen on fire, with smoke starting to fill the house and all other residents "still inside unaware." After the resident alerted the others, some escaped out the first and second floor windows.

He determined that the fire started due to "unattended cooking on the stovetop," leaving the home "heavily damaged" and "uninhabitable."

The owner of the home is making other living arrangements for residents.
