Oxford Valley Chapel Youth Group Leader Facing Felony Sex Charges: District Attorney

The Bensalem man posted bail on Nov. 21, court records show.

A 22-year-old youth group leader from Bensalem is facing cahrges, including felonies, after allegedly sexually assaulting young girls who participated in the youth group, according to court records and a criminal complaint filed against the man.

The Bucks county District Attorney's Office said Monday Michael Walusimbi, 22, of Bensalem, has been charged with felony sexual assault by volunteer or employee of nonprofit; felony criminal attempt sexual assault by volunteer or employee of nonprofit; felony corruption of minors, defendant age 18 or above; indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age; criminal attempt indecent assault of a person less than 16 years of age; and corruption of minors.

Walusimbi was released on Nov. 21 after posting 10 percent of $50,000 bail, court records show.

Walusimbi is scheduled to appear before Magisterial District Judge Daniel Baranoski on Nov. 30 for his preliminary hearing, court records show.

According to the criminal complaint filed against Walusimbi, he is accused of grabbing two teenage girls – both who were part of the youth group for which Walusimbi served as a leader – and thrusting against their buttocks through clothes in late summer this year.

When interviews by authorities, Walusimbi admitted to doing this to both girls, the criminal complaint reads.

Walusimbi told authorities both incidents happened at Oxford Valley Chapel, according to the criminal complaint.
