Pennsbury Educators Recognized During School Board Meeting
January Is School Director Recognition Month
Educators were recognized during the Pennsbury school board special meeting as part of the School Director Recognition Month, which is held every January.
Pennsbury CEO and Superintendent Dr. Paul Long took a moment to thank each board member and handed them a certificate of appreciation before the special meeting took place at Fallsington Elementary School on Thursday night.
Honorees were also given a gift bag and treats, which were made by students in the More Opportunity for Student Training program (M.O.S.T.).

The agenda for the meeting included a few items; the result of Children’s Development Charter School application, facility usage policy waiver request and setting the agenda for regular monthly meetings.
The board unanimously denied the Children’s Development Charter School application. The board adopted the recommendation of the administration that said it found the school application did not satisfy the evaluation criteria according to the charter school law and state’s standards.
The second item up for discussion was the use of the Medill Bair Sports Complex pool on Sunday by the Falls Township (No. 1) and Levittown (No. 1) fire companies. Both fire companies want to conduct ice rescue and water rescue training that day, but according to a school policy buildings are not available for use that day. At no cost to the district, the board approved the permit application and waived the general rule No. 13 of policy No. 6500 which states: No building shall be available on Sundays.
Finally, the board set the agenda for regular monthly meetings to handle old business, the 2011-12 school calendar, authorization for bids, personnel and many other items.
