Pennsbury High Locked Down For 'Gunshot' Report

FALLSINGTON, PA —Pennsbury school officials have sent an alert to families Tuesday regarding reports of a "gunshot" coming from a nearby neighborhood.

Schools Superintendent Thomas A. Smith and PHS Campus Principal Reggie Meadows said in the notice to Pennsbury families that at 11 a.m. Tuesday, during the class change at the high school, a student reported that they heard a “gunshot” coming from a nearby neighborhood.

Students on the path were instructed to return to the buildings. The Falls Township Police Department was also called immediately, school officials said.

All students were secured in the buildings as police investigated, school officials said.

School officials said police believed the sound was generated by landscaping equipment being used nearby.

They have cleared the area and the high school will be returning to normal functioning shortly.
