Pennsbury Names New School Board President, Vice President

Four school board members were re-elected but Vice President Gary Sanderson lost to Donna Abrescia in the Nov. 7 general election.

FALLSINGTON, PA —The Pennsbury School Board has a new president and vice president for the upcoming year and a new school board member.

The Pennsbury School District Board of Directors held its annual reorganization meeting on Dec. 7 at Fallsington Elementary School., swearing in three school board members. Two other members who were re-elected in the Nov. 7 general election could not make the meeting.

Buck County Magisterial District Judge Jan Vislosky was on hand to issue the Oath of Office for Donna Abrescia, Jeannine Delwiche, and Jim Prokopiak.

Chip Taylor, who was unable to attend the meeting, was sworn in by Judge Vislosky earlier in the day.

TR Kannan was also unable to attend the meeting. He will be sworn in before the school board action meeting on December 21.

"Being a school board director is a huge commitment, and we are grateful to all nine of our School Board Directors for all they do for Pennsbury students, families, and the community," the school district said..

Abrescia replaces long-time school board member Gary Sanderson, representing Region 2 for a four-year term.

Prokopiak and Taylor were both re-elected to a four-year term, also in Region 2. Delwiche was re-elected to a four-year term to represent Region 3. Kannan was re-elected to a four-year term to represent Region 1.

At the meeting, the board approved the elections of Joanna Steere as president, Joshua Waldorf as vice president, and Taylor as assistant secretary.

Waldorf will continue his role as the representative of the Bucks County Intermediate Unit. Lambing and Taylor will serve as representatives to Bucks County Technical High School. The municipality liaisons are Delwiche (Falls Township), Lambing (Lower Makefield), Taylor (Tullytown), and Waldorf (Yardley).

The Pennsbury School Board of Directors will hold its next meeting on Thursday, Dec. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Fallsington Elementary School.
