Pennsbury Opens Bullying Prevention Event To Local Parents

Local parents are invited to an empowering event that takes aim at bullying, cyber-bullying, teen depression and will offer strategies on taking preventative actions with their own children.
John Halligan, who lost his son Ryan to suicide several years ago, will be the presenter at the event, according to a news release. Ryan died by suicide on Oct. 7, 2003 after he was bullied by classmates at school and online. He was 13 years old.

Halligan's presentation will cover the lessons learned too late for his family, according to a news release.
Three Pennsbury middle schools are sponsoring the event on May 17 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Pennwood Middle School.
