In February, Prokopiak —as Bucks County's Democratic Party nominee —won a special election, handily defeating Republican challenger Candace Cabanas by winning 85 percent of the tally.
The two won the April primary election and are expected to square off again in the November general election.
Prokopiak became the new state representative of the 140th Legislative District in March, replacing State Rep. John Galloway, who resigned in mid-December to become Magisterial District Justice for Falls Township.
