FALLSINGTON, PA —All students return to classes Wednesday as the Pennsbury School District kicks off its 2023-2024 school year, the 75th one of its existence.

Some students got a chance for an earlier start as full-day orientation for students in grades K, 6 and 9 started Tuesday.

Schools Superintendent Thomas A. Smith outlined some points for a "smooth and successful transition" back to school in an email to parents just before the Labor Day weekend.

The school district is welcoming numerous new teachers and staff to the school district this year, including three new principals. Meanwhile, it will also debut its new turf at Falcon Field on Sept. 14.

The high school was recently ranked No. 95 of all 750 high schools in Pennsylvania, according to a recent study by U.S. News and World Report.

Smith said parents can find student information such as high school schedules, middle school Homeroom/Team Info, elementary teacher assignments, and transportation bus route information in PowerSchool.

Smith said parents should adhere to all drop-off and pick-up procedures and designated times, locations, and traffic laws to keep students and staff safe.

He said parents should look for communication from the district on the Pennsbury School District website, email, text, Pennsbury App, Facebook, and Instagram) for important updates and announcements.

Smith said Reach, a two-way communication platform, is expected to be available by the middle of September.

The district has 9,611 students of which 9,000 are transported, 878 certified teachers and staff, 667 support staff members, 16 school buildings, and 49 administrators.

The school district is starting classes for students a little later this year too as opposed to prior years, Smith said. Click here to view the school calendar.

"We're looking forward to a fantastic year of growth and learning for your child. Your support and involvement play a vital role in their success, and we're grateful to have you as part of our school community," the superintendent said.
