Pennsbury Teacher Receives Valentine's Day Surprise
Donations raised from a 2011 Hoops for Heart campaigned, organized by physical education teacher John Daidone, totalled more than $23,000.

Pennsbury's Quarry Hill Elementary School held a surprise presentation on Valentine's Day.
The school's Principal Dr. Peggy Schiavone and the entire student body held the surprise presentation to recognize physical education teacher John Daidone for his notable fundraising efforts, according to a news release.

Daidone organized a Hoops for Heart campaign on behalf of the American Heart Association at the school in 2011. The school's families, faculty and staff raised a total of $23,322.49 in donations and according to the AHA, the praise-worthy effort ranked fifth in the nation.
Pennsylvania Sen. Chuck McIlhinney prepared a special proclamation to honor Daidone and Quarry Hill for the outstanding fundraising effort. The proclamation was presented to Daidone during Tuesday's assembly.
