FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —Pennsbury’s Falcon Field stadium is one step closer to getting a new eight-lane synthetic track and an artificial turf field.

The Falls Township recently unanimously approved preliminary and final land development approval for the Pennsbury School District’s project, which is expected to begin this spring. Supervisor Brian Galloway was absent.

Speaking on behalf of the school district, James Lynch, principal of D'Huy Engineering Inc., told supervisors that the track and turf installations are part of the multi-phase project’s second phase.

Also included is the installation of LED stadium lights, which Lynch said are “designed for zero light trespass.”

“I know Pennsbury will be satisfied with the LED upgrade,” Supervisor Vice Chairman Jeff Boraski said. “I’m excited for it.”

Future upgrades include new restrooms, concessions, and a team room, Lynch said.

While those improvements have not yet been put out to bid, Lynch assured the board that play will resume at Falcon Field this year.

The school board has awarded a construction contract and work is expected to begin sometime this month, he said.
