FALLSINGTON, PA —A Democratic candidate has emerged as the first to replace State Rep. John Galloway, who was elected last Tuesday to serve as a Magisterial District Judge.

Donna Petrecco has announced her campaign for state representative in the 140th District, which covers Levittown.

Petrecco said her family has deep roots in Levittown, stretching back for generations, and that has fueled her desire to serve through her passion for the community that raised her grandparents, parents, and children.

“I am excited to announce my candidacy for State Representative in the 140th District of Pennsylvania," she said. "My decision to run for public office is rooted in a deep commitment to the well-being and prosperity of our hometown. As a lifelong resident and as a mother who has raised my daughters here in Lower Bucks County, I have witnessed both the opportunities and challenges that our hometown faces."

With Galloway set to vacate this seat in the coming weeks, Petrecco said there is a need to continue having a strong voice in Harrisburg fighting for constituents.

"I believe that public service is a privilege and an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those I seek to represent," she said. "Our government needs to work better for us to ensure that no one forgets about how important and special our hometown is and that our tax dollars are being spent on the services that we can see."

Petrecco said, as a state representative, she would work tirelessly to be an advocate on the pressing issues that matter most to our residents, from protecting abortion rights to keeping communities safe to fostering economic growth that creates family-sustaining jobs and ensuring access to quality education for children.

"It is my promise to you that I will be a State Representative who will bridge partisan divides and recognize diverse perspectives within our hometown district to get things done. This moment is too big to sit on the sidelines and that is why I'm stepping up and running, to fight for all of us," she stated.

Petrecco graduated from Bishop Conwell High School and received her degree in marketing from St. Joseph’s University.

Following graduation, she moved to New York City, where she built her career working in the
marketing and public relations departments of leading cosmetic brands. In 2005, she moved back home to Falls Township to raise her family, becoming a stay-at-home mom until her second daughter entered preschool.

In 2013, she reentered the workforce, joining the top real estate agency in the area and putting her marketing skills back to work.

Through her commitment to her community, Donna took on multiple leadership roles, serving as deputy chair of membership and as a committee person of the Falls Township Democrats. Donna is also on the board of the Historic Preservation Committee of Falls Township. In 2021, she was appointed to the Bucks County Housing Authority by the Bucks County Commissioners and currently serves as the Vice Chair.
