Police Quash Levittown Walmart Shooting Rumor

The "false report" was spreading in the wake of weekend mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.

TULLYTOWN, PA — With the weekend's mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, fresh on the minds of many, police in Tullytown were working to knock down a spreading rumor about a local shooting.

On Facebook Monday afternoon, Tullytown Borough Police said they are aware of a "false report" of an incident at the Walmart at 180 Levittown Center.

"We confirmed with Walmart management ... there is no incident at the store," police wrote in the post.

Police did not elaborate on details of the rumored incident in the post.

In El Paso, a shooter opened fire Saturday at a Walmart near a mall. At least 22 people were killed in the El Paso shooting, and another nine were killed early Sunday morning in a mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio.
