Police Shoot Man Who Displayed Handgun During Bucks Co. Traffic Stop: DA
The Bucks County DA's office is investigating a police-involved shooting that happened during a traffic stop Tuesday morning.
FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — A man who showed a handgun to police officers was shot after fleeing a traffic stop in Falls Township early Tuesday, said the Bucks County District Attorney's Office.
The Bucks County District Attorney's Office said officers encountered the man during a routine traffic stop early Tuesday morning. The man, who has not been identified, "displayed a handgun to police on two separate occasions" according to the DA's office. He tried to drive away from officers one point, said the DA's office.
The man "was shot," officials said, and police secured his firearm and began administering first aid.

First responders took the man to a hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries. Officials did not say what condition he was in.
The two officers involved were uninjured, and the DA's office said they are on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

The Bucks County DA's office is not releasing the names of any persons involved at this time, and will continue investigating.
