Friends Village

Friends Village offers community living rooted in purpose, belonging and choice. Blending Quaker values and active aging, we promote connection and care for one another. Our residents live well, engaged with the wider world and confident they will have support should they need it. Located on two campuses, Friends Village provides independent living and personal care in peaceful settings embedded in residential neighborhoods. Our Paxson Campus is in the heart of Newtown Borough, close to shops, dining and local events. Our Styer Campus, on Lower Dolington Road, boasts raised-bed gardens and walking paths for resident enjoyment. The full calendar of resident-informed programming features lectures, wellness classes, discussion groups and cultural events to promote residents’ intellectual, physical and social well-being. If needed, Friends Village provides our residents with flexible, affordable support in their own apartments through its NeighborCare program. By using our long-tenured and dedicated staff, it is a home care service without the onerous minimum hours or uncertain staffing of agencies. And if care needs increase further, personal care is available in our historic Paxson Hall. What truly sets Friends Village apart is the warm sense of community. Bristol Oxford Valley Road will be closed and detoured between Woodbourne Road and Trenton Road in Middletown Township on Tuesday, May 10 and Wednesday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for pavement repair, according to PennDOT.During the closure, Bristol Oxford Valley Road through traffic will be detoured over Woodbourne Road and Trenton Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. PennDOT advises drivers to allow extra time when going through the area. The work will be done by PennDOT Bucks County maintenance employees.

Grammy-nominated artist Moira Smiley will lead us through an afternoon of music-making that is as fun as it is freeing. This is a musical gathering where no preparation is required and every voice is welcome. Moira will guide the group through simple vocal games, catchy songs, and gorgeous harmonies. Whether you want to lift your voice in song or simply sit back and listen, there is a place for you. All ages, all levels, and all voices are welcome. Join us for our biggest community singing event yet. You will be amazed at the sound we can create together! Last season we introduced our audience to the unique folk-meets-classical blend of American composer Moira Smiley's music to rave reviews. Our annual bingo night fundraiser is back at the Bristol Moose Lodge Saturday, June 27! Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Bingo starts at 7:00 p.m.&nbsp; Tickets are on sale now for $30 in advance. The entry fee includes 10 rounds of bingo (3 bingo cards per game) and a door prize ticket. Additional bingo cards will be available for sale at the event&nbsp; .If you purchase a group of 8 or more tickets, we will reserve seating together for you. Smaller groups and individual tickets will be first-come, first-served seating.&nbsp; Bingo winners will receive $200 or more. In the event two or more people have a good bingo in the same game, the cash prize will be split among all winners. We will also have additional chances to win with incredible raffle prizes, door prizes and a 50/50.&nbsp; Due to the current gambling laws for PA, mature teens may attend for a social night with their family, but they are not permitted to win bingo, so they must be accompanied by an adult who can claim their prize.
