Run A 5K, Get Sesame Place Passes In May

MIDDLETOWN, PA — This spring, you and the kids can go out for a run and get yourself some free passes to Sesame Place in the process.

The Kiwanis-Herald Sesame Place 5K 2019 is scheduled for Sunday, May 19.

The 5K begins at 8 a.m. at the parks entrance. There will be a one-mile fun run/walk starting at 7 a.m. and a kids 50-yard sprint at 7:45 a.m. The races begin at the park's entrance on North Bucks Town Road.

Everyone who registers will get a free, one-day pass to Sesame Place, which is where the race will start. There also will be finishers' medals and t-shirts for early registrants.

The entry fee for the 5K and one-mile fun run are $30 and entering the sprint is $20 through May 1. Registration after May 1 for the 5K and one-mile is $35, and $25 for the sprint.

Registration will be available on race day for $40.

Proceeds from the race go to the Dick Dougherty Scholarship fund, named for the late sports editor of the Bucks County Courier Times. Since it started in 1999, the race has raised nearly $500,000 to help college-bound scholar-athletes from 18 Bucks County high schools.

Organizers say more than 800 runners are expected for this year's race.
