The parks department said that it hopes to have staff available to assist during setup. "If you cannot be there during this timeframe, you can still set up your display that Saturday during park operating hours (sunrise to sunset)," park and recreation officials said.
The display area is located just over the bridge on the peninsula off the small parking area and walking path (left-hand side if driving over the bridge from the soccer field side of the park).
Scarecrows will be on display from Oct. 15 through Oct. 31.
The Park and Recreation Board will be judging the entries within that period. Displays will be available for pickup on Nov. 1. Staff will also dispose of the scarecrows upon request.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Winners will receive their prize and be recognized at a future Board of Supervisors meeting.
