FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —With Pennsbury students returning to school next week, the Falls Township Police Department is offering some tips to help keep kids safe.
The Falls Township Police Department is offering tips to parents for keeping children safe as they walk to and from the bus stop and school.

- Use sidewalks when available, and cross at intersections or crosswalks.
- If there's no sidewalk, walk facing oncoming traffic so you can see vehicles and drivers.
- Look both ways before crossing, and be aware of turning cars at intersections with traffic lights.
- Don't run between parked cars or buses, and don't run through parking lots.
- Follow traffic signals, signs, and pavement markings.
- Obey crossing guards and their signals.
- Try to walk to school with friends or other students.
- Choose the safest route between your home and school.
- Practice walking the route with your children.
- Stick to the same route every day.
- Don't take shortcuts.
