Second Annual Measurement Carnival Held At Edgewood Elementary School

Students Engage In Standard And Metric Measurement Systems Through Interactive Games

Pennsbury’s Edgewood Elementary School held their second annual Measurement Carnival.

All students participated in carnival-style games to support the educational Measurements Standards set for schools.

Over the course of two days, students were challenged in ways to measure, weigh and balance various items throughout the various tented stations. In addition to the games, students were intrigued by the Exploration Center were they were able to experiment with the different concepts of measurement.

"This was our second annual Measurement Carnival. We wanted to take a difficult concept, measurement and make it fun and exciting. The Measurement Carnival makes learning come alive. A fabulous and dedicated committee of teachers and parents made this happen. Our goal is to create life-long learners through fun and exciting experiences," Edgewood Elementary School principal Michele Spack said.

First grade teacher Kelli Kestel and advanced math teacher Kim Sheaffer chaired carnival. Parents Coleen Jones and Caroline Genovese assisted the teachers in making this event a huge success.
