"Good evening. This is Mr. Meehan, Principal of William Penn Middle School with an important message for all of our families. It is with deep sorrow that I must share news that a second member of our 7th grade faculty passed away at home this weekend. Ms. Janine Giuliano, one of our teachers of mathematics, was a colleague and friend to everyone on our staff, and a true inspiration to her math students. Her loss will be felt deeply by all. School counselors and psychologists will be available for students and faculty who need support on Monday and for the remainder of the week. Understandably, this news -- on the heels of an earlier loss we experienced last week -- is extremely difficult for all of us. Now, more than ever, we must look for support and strength in one another as we move forward. I urge you to please check the William Penn website which has information posted about death and grieving for children. In addition, please know there will be additional communication with our school community throughout the week. If you have questions, please call Mr. Meehan on Monday at 215-428-4280."
The circumstances surrounding Giuliano's death were not immediately available. A call put in with the district's communications director was not immediately returned.
