On Tuesday, the Neshaminy School Board voted to increase the max household annual income for the Senior Citizen Tax Assistance Program.

LEVITTOWN, PA — More senior-citizen homeowners in the Neshaminy School District will be getting a break on school-related property taxes.
On Tuesday, the Neshaminy School Board voted to increase the maximum household annual-income guideline for the Senior Citizen Tax Assistance Program from $19,999 to $24,999.
Under the new plan, seniors in the lowest income bracket, bringing in $0-$9,000 per year, will get a $650 tax rebate from the school system, while those earning from $19,000-$24,999 will get back $250. You can see all the rebate levels under the plan by clicking here.

Since 1977, Neshaminy has distributed more than $2.6 million back to senior citizens through the tax assistance program. During that time, the board has voted to increase funding for the program nine times.
On Tuesday, board members said the new increase is meant to help local seniors cope with rising property tax costs. The money to be rebated has already been accounted for in the district's budget and won't result in any other cuts, the board said.
