ShopRite Holding 'Help Fight Hunger' Day

Local lawmakers and police officers will be bagging groceries on Sept. 17 to mark the official day to “Help Fight Hunger,” as declared by Governor Corbett.
Pa Representative Tina Davis will join local police officers at the ShopRite in Fairless Hills to raise awareness for food banks in the community. ShopRite of Fairless Hills will be accepting monetary donations to help fill the shelves of community food banks.
The event starts at 10 a.m.

“With nearly 50 million Americans, including more than 16 million children, suffering from food insecurity, ShopRite Partners In Caring, a year-round, community based charity, is helping to raise awareness and inspire action within their local communities through hunger-fighting initiatives. Since its inception in 1999, ShopRite Partners In Caring has donated $35 million to local food banks that support more than 1,700 charities in providing food assistance throughout the Northeast,” the store said in a statement.
