Soap Box Derby, Car Show To Cause Weekend Road Closures In Middletown Township

Two weekend events in Middletown Township will cause ​"lengthy road closures," police said Wednesday.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Two weekend events in Middletown Township will cause "lengthy road closures," police said Wednesday. The first event is the Soap Box Derby on Woodbourne Road. The other event is the Langhorne Borough Classic Car Show.

The 61st Annual Soap Box Derby race, to be held on Saturday June 17, will close Woodbourne Road from Quarry to Cobalt Cross roads from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. (The event rain date is Sunday June 18.)

Also on Saturday, the Langhorne Classic Car Show will take place in Langhorne Borough from 3 to 7 p.m. The event will cause Maple Avenue (Rt. 213) to be closed from Pine Street (Rt. 413) to Green Street from 1:45 to 7:30 p.m.

Also that day, due to the car show, S Bellevue Avenue will ve closed from Maple Avenue to Richardson Avenue from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. N Bellevue Avenue will be closed from Watson Avenue to Maple Avenue through downtown Langhorne from 1:45 to 7:30 p.m.

Police said all Traffic will be detoured on Richardson Avenue.
