Summer Stock Showcases Neshaminy Student Theater Talents

LANGHORNE, PA —For 58 years, Neshaminy Summer Stock, has staged shows throughout late July.

And this year is no different with performances starting Wednesday for the summer theater intensive program offered by Neshaminy School District that is now entering its 58th summer production.

This year, the program will stage three shows: "Mean Girls: High School Edition," Disney’s "The Descendants," and a Showcase for the youngest performers called "The 50th Annual Non-Scaring Monster Convention."

The program involves more than 200 students in grades 2-12 who have the opportunity to work with a talented group of instructors with a wide range of professional and educational theatrical experience.

Over the years, several Summer Stock participants have gone on to perform professionally on Broadway and elsewhere.

This year, Neshaminy Summer Stock includes among its cast members some of the Neshaminy High School performers who were honored at the 2024 Philadelphia Independence Awards for their recent production of Monty Python's Spamalot, as well as 2024 Neshaminy High School graduate Cameron Krauss, who recently won an award at the National High School Musical Theatre Jimmy Awards in New York City.

All performances will be held at Neshaminy High School, 2001 Old Lincoln Highway in Langhorne.

Show times are as follows:

Main Stage Production: Mean Girls: High School Edition – Neshaminy High School Auditorium

• July 24, 25 and 26: 7 PM
• July 27: 3 PM and 8 PM
• July 28: 3 PM

Theater Workshop: Disney’s The Descendants – Neshaminy High School Auditorium

• July 25 and 26: 11 AM
• July 27 and 28: 10:30 AM

Summer Stock Showcase: 50th Annual Non-Scaring Monster Convention – Neshaminy High School’s Black Box Theater

• July 24, 25 and 26: 1:30 PM
• July 27 and 28: 1 PM

Tickets are now on sale for the three shows and can be purchased at Neshaminy High School auditorium at the following times: Thursday 7/17, Friday 7/18, Monday 7/21 and Tuesday 7/22 from 8-10 am and 5-8 pm; Saturday from 9-7 pm. Tickets can also be purchased at the door at show times subject to availability.

Ticket prices are as follows: "Mean Girls," $15 for all seats; Disney's "The Descendants," $12 reserved and $10 general admission. "Showcase" is $10 for all seats. Cash or check only, please.
