Suspicious Package Left At Lower Bucks Hospital
Authorities said the package had a note stating "contents poison" left outside the hospital's emergency room Saturday.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —Police are investigating a suspicious package with a note that said "contents poison" that was left in the parking lot of the Lower Bucks Hospital emergency room on Saturday afternoon.
Lt. Sean Cosgrove of the Middletown Township Police Department said the package instead contained ashes.
Police and fire crews responded at 5:18 p.m. Saturday to the hospital at 501 Bath Rd. to investigate a suspicious package that was discovered about 100 feet from the emergency department ambulance doors.

The package had a handwritten note that stated, "Contents Poison," and indicated that there
were remains of a person in the bag.
The hospital was briefly placed in “divert” status, police said.

The Bucks County Hazardous Materials team responded and was able to determine what the
contents were and rule them safe.
There is no threat to the community.
The person who placed the bag has been identified. An investigation is ongoing, police said.
Howard McGoldrick, fire chief for the Third District Volunteer Fire Company, told Patch that the package was a black contractor bag with a note reporting poison.
He said the Hazmat team used a robot to open the bag and check for hazards. No poisons were detected and the bag was full or garbage and ashes from a legitimate cremation.
