According to the district, Collins was accompanied by NHS Head Football Coach Steve Wilmot, Principal Dr. Robert McGee and Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Tom Magdelinskas. He walked down the school's 'Main Street' during a class change and visited Harry E. Franks Stadium, where Coach Collins photographed the Wall of Fame tile for fellow coach and NHS graduate James Franklin, currently the head football coach at Penn State.
