Troop 19 Eagle Scout Cody Turner Completes Service Project at Middletown Senior Center
Langhorne resident Cody Turner is Troop 19's newest Eagle Scout

Cody Michael Turner has recently earned the highest rank in scouting- the of Eagle Scout. A member of Troop 19 in Langhorne, he completed an Eagle Scout Service Project at the Middletown Senior Center in Levittown.
With the help of his project mentor John Helgesen, Cody led a team of 16 volunteers in the design and construction of landscaped steps for the center’s two bocce courts. The project was funded by donations including those made by family, friends, James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Home Depot, and Sandy’s Beef and Ale. Manhattan Bagel, Peppi’s Pizza and Pasta and Langhorne Sandwich Shop donated catering for the project work days.
Cody began his scouting career as a Tiger Cub Scout at Pack 19 which is chartered by Langhorne Presbyterian Church. He earned his Arrow of Light and joined Troop 19 in 2010. Cody served his troop as Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and returned to Pack 19 in the position of Den Chief. Highlights of his scouting career including earning 39 merit badges, attending Den Chief and National Youth Leadership Training, volunteering on troop service projects, and participating in 10 brother scout’s Eagle Service Projects. Cody camped extensively with his troop visiting Ockanickon, Bashore, Rodney, Tuckahoe, Citta, and Horseshoe Scout Reservations. He is a brotherhood member of Order of the Arrow Ajapeu Lodge 2 and attended the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) in Ann Arbor, Michigan August 2015 for the 100th Anniversary of the organization.

The son of Robert and Elyse Turner of Langhorne, Cody is a senior at Bucks County Technical High School where he has focused on collision repair including an internship that led to employment with Neshaminy Auto Collision and Painting. He maintained Distinguished Honor Roll all 4 years and is a member of the National Honor Society; he was named Langhorne Rotary Club Student of the Month November 2016. Cody is part of the Jewish Community through Beiteinu, a Synagogue without walls. His hobbies include playing ice hockey with Grundy Grizzlies Ice Hockey Travel Team and flying radio controlled airplanes as a member of the Pegasus Flying Club. Cody has been accepted to Universal Technical Institute’s Automotive/Diesel and Industrial Program.
