Truman DECA Wins Big at District Competition, Advances to States
Winners will travel to Hershey in February and have a chance to move on to Nationals in Nashville, Tenn., in April.
On December 17, 2019, Harry S. Truman High School students competed in the District 10 DECA Conference and Competition at Temple University. Pennsylvania DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management at the high school and college level.
Twenty-four students participated with 21 placing in the top of their categories, allowing them to move on to the State Leadership Conference and Competition that will be held in Hershey, Pa., from February 19-21.
“I am so very proud of my 'kids',” said Truman’s DECA Advisor Angela Owarzani. “They work so hard and to see the excitement on their faces when it pays off is priceless for me. My kids are the best!"

In Hershey, students will compete against the top winners in Pennsylvania’s other 11 districts and have a chance to advance to Nationals held in Nashville, Tenn., in April 2020.
