Truman Drama to Perform Freaky Friday the Musical, 2/28-3/2

LEVITTOWN---Truman High School Drama will stage the Pennsylvania high school premiere of Freaky Friday, a new musical comedy based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney film. Freaky Friday opens in Truman High School in Levittown on Feb. 28, 2019 and runs through March 2, 2019.

The ambitious show features more than 70 cast members, including Bristol Township School District teachers. Staff members were invited to audition and several were cast in the musical.

The show, an update of an American classic, delivers a lot of laughs when an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies. They have just one day to put things right before mom's big wedding. Mother and daughter struggle to see what it is really like to be a family and experience each other’s lives.

According to Truman Drama Director Tracey Gatte, the audience should expect a few twists, have plenty of fun and enjoy great music and talented performers and singers.

Freaky Friday opens Thursday, Feb. 28, followed by shows on March 1, and March 2. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. On March 2, an afternoon show is scheduled for 1 p.m. Performances take place at Truman High School, Lou Volpe Auditorium, 3001 Green Lane, Levittown, PA.
