Tullytown Borough Police Chief Retires
Police Chief Daniel J. Doyle retired after 25 years on the force Friday. He had served as chief since 2013.
TULLYTOWN BOROUGH —Police Chief Daniel J. Doyle said goodbye Friday, capping a 25-year career with the borough police department.
In a post on the Tullytown Borough Police Facebook page Friday, the department commended the chief and ended its note by saying "Happy Retirement Day."
"A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way," the post stated. "Thank you for all of your wisdom and help during our adventures together."

Doyle was thanked in the post for his "loyal and dedicated" 25 years of service to the department and borough citizens.
Numerous Facebook comments congratulated the chief. They were joined by the mayor, sergeant, police officers and police department secretary who wished the chief "good luck on future endeavors."

"Today was his last day," said a secretary who answered a call to the police department Friday afternoon seeking comment.
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. May we live up to your example," the Facebook post continued.
Doyle announced his retirement in July, according to published reports. He had served as police chief since 2013.
