2 Killed In Route 295 Crash In Middletown Twp
Fire officials said the two drivers in the head-on collision near the Route 1 interchange Sunday morning were pronounced dead at the scene.
MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —Two people were killed in a head-on collision on Route 295 early Sunday morning, fire officials said.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 3:20 a.m. Sunday on eastbound Route 295 near mile marker 5, said Frank Farry, fire chief for the Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company.
Farry said both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Pennsylvania State Police at the Trevose barracks is handling the investigation.
The identities of the victims are unknown at this time. The Bucks County Coroner's Office was at the scene Sunday, Farry said.

Farry said that a driver may have been going in the wrong direction on Route 295 near the Route 1 interchange. The vehicles involved were a sedan and an SUV.
The Langhorne-Middletown, Penndel, Parkland and William Penn fire companies responded to the accident.
Farry said crews were on the scene until 6 a.m. Sunday.
The Penndel Volunteer Fire Company said it had Rescue 8 along with Rescue 9, Engine 77, and Engine 22 assisting with the crash.
