Victims ID'd In Fatal Route 295 Crash In Middletown Twp.: Police

A Ewing, N.J., woman and a Media man were identified as the victims in the head-on collision on Route 295 Sunday, state police said.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —Two people killed in a Route 295 head-on collision early Sunday morning have been identified, State Police said.

Jenna Paulaski, 21, of Ewing, N.J., and Alexander Wetzel, 31, of Media were identified as the victims in the crash, State Police Troop M said in a press release Tuesday.

State Police said that Paulaski, who was driving a Ford Taurus, was heading the wrong way on Route 295 from at least Exit 8 prior to the crash.

The two-vehicle crash occurred on eastbound Route 295 east in the area of milepost 5.2 in Middletown Township at 3:21 a.m. Sunday, state police said.

At the time of the crash, Paulaski was driving westbound in the true left, eastbound lane. Wetzel, who was driving a Jeep Compass, was driving in the eastbound left lane, state police said.

State Police said that Paulaski struck Wetzel's vehicle head-on before both vehicles came to a rest in the left lane at the point of impact.

Paulaski's car sustained heavy front-end damage. She was wearing a seatbelt and the driver's side front airbag had deployed.

Wetzel's vehicle also sustained heavy front-end damage. He was wearing a seatbelt and had the driver and passenger front airbags deployed.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Notifications have been made to the next of kin.

State Police were assisted by Troop M - Dublin, Troop M - Trevose, and the Middletown Township Police Department. Fire departments on the scene were from Penndel, Middletown, and Parkland. The Bucks County Coroner's Office also responded.
