Vigil Planned Wednesday In Langhorne For Victims Of Orlando Shooting

'It is vitally important that you show up and we stand together for the victims of this horrendous hate crime," vigil organizers said.

The BuxMont Coalition for Peace Action will hold a vigil Wednesday for the victims of Sunday's mass shooting at a nightclub in Orlando.

The vigil will be held Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Pine Street and Maple Avenue in Langhorne.  

Sunday's shooting killed 49 people at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando. The gunman has been identified as Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, who was killed by law enforcement in an exchange of gunfire.

One of the victims of the shooting was 18-year-old Akyra Murray of Philadelphia. Another Philadelphia woman, Patience Carter, was injured in the attack.

"Stay for fifteen, minutes, thirty minutes, or stay the whole hour. It is vitally important that you show up and we stand together for the victims of this horrendous hate crime. This vigil is open to the public, please tell your friends to join us. Please bring your own sign or we have some that we can share with you if you would prefer," the BuxMont Coalition for Peace Action said in an event announcement on Facebook.

This is the second local vigil held in remembrance of the victims. On Tuesday, a vigil was held along the banks of the Delaware River in New Hope.
