Watch Flames Rip Through Penndel Borough Home

A fire on Hulmeville Avenue late Friday in Penndel is under investigation. Six people were living in the home at the time of the blaze.

PENNDEL BOROUGH —Fire engulfed a Hulmeville Avenue home in the borough late Friday as crews battled the blaze with its intense flames and heat.

At 11:30 p.m. Friday, the Penndel Volunteer Fire Company Station 8, along with numerous area fire companies, were dispatched for the report of a house on fire along the 200 block of Hulmeville Avenue.

Fire crews arrived at a two-story, single-family dwelling with fire showing and established command. Engine 8 arrived and secured a water supply and went into service to extinguish the fire, the Penndel fire department said in its Facebook post.

Tower 8 arrived a short time and operated as the first due special service. Penndel thanked all its mutual aid companies for the help.

No injuries were reported.

The Middletown Township Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

It was noted that six people were living in the home at the time of the fire.

Among those assisting were two Bensalem Township fire companies: the Third District Volunteer Fire Company and the Nottingham Fire Department.

The Third District Volunteer Fire Company said it ventilation and overhaul operations.

The Nottingham Fire Department's Ladder 65 responded with the crew throwing three ladders, including the main, and assisting interior crews with searches and checking for extensions.
