Windy Weather Raises Wildfire Risk In Levittown

The high winds are posing an elevated risk for the spread of fires in the Levittown area, according to the National Weather Service, which has issued a special weather statement warning residents of the hazard.

"Very strong winds and dry conditions will lead to an elevated risk for the spread of fires through this afternoon," the statement said.

Currently, northwest winds of 20-30 miles per hour were gusting as strong as 45 to 60 miles per hour, according to the NWS.

Winds are expected to diminish by this afternoon "but it will still be breezy."
