Woman Carried Unconscious Child In Levittown Store: Police

Tullytown Police charged a Bristol woman with child endangerment for an incident at the Levittown Town Center on Saturday.

TULLYTOWN BOROUGH, PA — A Bristol woman faces numerous charges after carrying an unconscious child in the Walmart in the Levittown Town Center, police said.

Samantha Fletcher, 28, of Bristol Borough, was charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, and endangering the welfare of another person for the incident on Saturday, police said.

The Tullytown Borough Police Department responded on Saturday to a report of a woman appearing to be under the influence screaming profanities at two small children in the store.

Police said witnesses said the woman was dragging one child around the floor by a backpack leash while he was crying hysterically.

The witness stated the woman picked up the child and dropped him into a shopping cart, causing him to hit his head. At some point, the child lost consciousness, police said.

Police located Fletcher in the store holding the unconscious child in her arms.

An ambulance arrived to tend to the child, and determined that the child needed immediate medical attention.

During the investigation, police found Fletcher responsible for the child's injuries.

Fletcher was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Terrence P. Hughes Sr., with bail set at 10 percent of $100,000. Fletcher was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
