Woman Critically Injured In Middletown Twp. Crash

Middletown Township Police said the crash happened early Sunday morning on West Maple Avenue.

MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —A woman is in critical condition following a crash on West Maple Avenue early Sunday morning, police said.

The Middletown Township Police Department responded around 5:14 a.m. Sunday to a one-vehicle crash in the area of West Maple Avenue near the intersection of Alscot Lane.

Police said that a black Ford F150 truck was traveling eastbound on West Maple Avenue when the vehicle crossed over the westbound lane and exited the roadway.

The vehicle traveled about 125 feet in the grass and struck a telephone pole, police said.

Upon arrival, the female passenger was unconscious and bleeding from the head and is in critical condition at this time, police said.

Police said the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene but was located nearby.

Police did not name the woman in the crash or state the extent of her injuries. Police also did not say whether any charges would be filed involving the accident.
