MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, PA —A 20-year-old Bristol Township woman pleaded guilty Thursday to seven misdemeanor counts for lying about her attempted rape and kidnapping in the parking lot of the Redner’s in Middletown Township last April.

Anjela Borisova Urumova pleaded guilty to seven misdemeanor counts: one count each of false alarm to an agency of public safety and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, two counts of false reports, and three counts of unsworn falsification to authorities.

A man spent 31 days in prison after being charged with multiple felony offenses before authorities determined that Urumova had lied, and the charges against him were dropped, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said.

Middletown Township Police reviewed surveillance videos from area retailers and a Bucks County District Attorney’s Office detective conducted a forensic review of Urumova’s cellphone data.

That review led to multiple inconsistencies and contradictory information with Urumova’s account of the attack at the Redner’s parking lot, authorities said.

After detectives confronted her, Urumova said she lied about the entire incident and that no assault occurred in the Redner's parking lot on April 16, 2023.

Common Pleas Judge Stephen Corr deferred sentencing so Urumova could undergo a pre-sentence investigation, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office said.
