A police officer positioned his fully marked patrol vehicle behind a blue Mitsubishi hatchback displaying no registration, a criminal complaint obtained by Patch states.

Stevens-Nunez was sitting outside by the opened front driver's side door.

She then stood up, reached into the front driver's compartment, pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun, turned to face the police officer, and pointed the gun toward him, the complaint states.

In fear for his safety, the officer put his vehicle in drive and went around her vehicle on the passenger side. The police officer created distance and gave orders over his vehicle's loudspeaker
for the woman to drop the weapon.

She got into the vehicle and drove away. The officer activated his vehicle's overhead lights and siren and got behind her vehicle, the complaint states.

She failed to stop and made a right out of the shopping center and proceeded north on South Oxford Valley Road.

The officer continued to pursue the vehicle while Stevens-Nunez was yelling out the window to him. She was fumbling her hands and the officer observed her display the firearm in a cardboard box, the complaint states.

The pursuit continued to Trenton Road when the woman made a right turn and began heading east. At this time, she accelerated at a high rate of speed in a 35-mile-per-hour zone.

During this time, there were other vehicles on the roadway.

The police officer hit speeds up to about 89 mph and lost sight of the vehicle around the intersection of South Olds Boulevard.

Authorities urge anyone who sees Stevens-Nunez to call 911 immediately.
