YMCA Enrolling All Spring Youth RCY Sports in Fairless Hills

From a Brand Partner: Kids fall in love with RCY Sports through enthusiastic, quality instruction and competition in positive Y environment

(River Crossing YMCA)

FAIRLESS HILLS, PA — River Crossing YMCA has announced the launch of RCY Sports with a host of youth sports opportunities at the Fairless Hills location this spring. The branch will host flag football, tee ball, travel basketball and track & field programs throughout the spring months, with most programs beginning April 11. Families can register directly here. All sports programs are open to boys and girls.

“It’s been a long winter, so we are very excited to launch RCY youth sports this spring,” shared Andrew Yanarella, director of youth sports for River Crossing YMCA. “Our programs emphasize learning life skills, along with ball skills. Winning and losing as a team, developing positive self esteem and conduct, help kids grow both on and off the field.”

RCY Cheetahs Track & Field: Runners (grouped by age 5-14 years old) will work on distance, middistance and sprinting events. Team members will also be introduced to various field events. Competitive team members will have the opportunity to compete in area meets if available this spring.

RCY T-Ball (Baseball): YMCA 4-5 year old ballplayers meet for 1 hour on Saturdays. Time is split between skill building and gameplay. All participants receive a uniform and hat.

RCY Flag Football: The Youth Flag Football program builds strong fundamentals in a fun, fast paced environment. Athletes (grouped by age 5-12 years old) develop throwing, catching, route running and defense while building speed, agility, coordination and teamwork. Sessions balance skill development and gameplay, with a focus on confidence and fun. All players receive a team jersey. The 10–12 year old age group will compete in a tournament on Saturday, May 16 at the Doylestown branch.

RCY Soccer: Teams, grouped by age (4-11 years old), meet for one hour on Saturdays. Time is split between skill building and gameplay, and all players receive a jersey included with enrollment.

RCY Spring Travel Basketball League: Teams (grades 6-7, 8-9) practice twice a week, or once a week along with a regional game. Each team will face at least one other River Crossing YMCA branch team during April and May, with the season culminating in a tournament at the Doylestown branch on June 6. Every player receives an official team jersey as part of the registration fee. RCY team locations include Easton, Bethlehem, Doylestown, Fairless Hills, Quakertown, Pen Argyl (Slate Belt branch) and Flemington in NJ (Deer Path branch). League tips off March 30.

The registration deadline for travel basketball is March 22. For the rest of the spring youth sports programs, the deadline is April 1. Families can learn more about the programs on the Y’s spring youth sports webpage, and register for Fairless Hills programs here.
