• Court dates set for Mifflinburg dog breeders' case of animal cruelty, illegal kennel (dailyitem.com) — Union County Court in Lewisburg has set July and October dates for two Mifflinburg dog breeders facing more than 100 charges each tied to alleged animal cruelty and operating an unlicensed kennel. Dozens of dogs were removed, many in poor condition, and the defendants are now challenging the charges and seizure of animals through multiple legal motions.
   

• Plea agreement rejected for Pa. woman accused in American Legion post thefts (pennlive.com) — A Union County judge in Lewisburg has rejected a plea deal for a former American Legion bookkeeper accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the Mifflinburg post, saying it wouldn’t adequately hold her accountable. The ruling cancels her sentencing and forces her to either renegotiate or go to trial, after local members described the financial and emotional damage to the post.
