Art Show and Music Café!
Are you looking for something to lift your spirits after a long, cold winter? Come to a community Art Show and Music Café! Enjoy the sights, sounds and flavors of local artists, musicians, poets and bakers, all while supporting a good cause!The Royersford Baptist Church Art Show and Music Cafe will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. This fundraising event will include art displays, art for sale, musical performances, poetry readings, art demonstrations, floral arrangements and homemade dessert tasting! Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for kids. Royersford Baptist Church is located at 452 S. Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468.
All proceeds from the event will benefit children of Haiti who attend The Music Camp of the Christian University of Northern Haiti. The mission of The Music Camp is to provide music instruction to children who would otherwise never have this special opportunity. After participating in this unique camp, children can return to their home communities and churches to share their newfound musical gifts and inspire others through the gift of music. Gently used instruments are also being collected, to give to the children attending the camp.
Local artists who will be featured at the Art Show and Music Cafe include, Jeanne Petrosky and Dennis Guzenski of JPDesign (www.jeannepetrosky.com) in Pottstown, specializing in acrylic paintings on handmade paper and Shawn Turley of DST Studio (dststudio.com) in Pottstown, a woodworking artist specializing in handmade furniture and fine arts. Art teacher, Tom McLaughlin, of Radnor School District, will be painting an original piece throughout the event. Many other local artists will be displaying their work, as well. Some art work will be for sale or auction, including authentic hand painted pieces created by artists of Haiti.
After enjoying the art displays, be ready to take in musical performances to stir the heart featuring Spring-Ford music teacher, Alex Cifelli, and many of his students. There's still more! Fresh floral arrangements to welcome spring, powerful poetry readings to inspire the soul and homemade desserts to sweeten the night.
