Driver Rescued After Upper Providence Crash
A driver was rescued after crashing in the early hours of Sunday morning in Upper Providence, authorities said.

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — A driver was rescued after crashing in the early hours of Sunday morning in Upper Providence, authorities said.
The incident occurred at around 3 a.m. on S. Lewis Road.
A driver lost control of his sedan and swung about 35 feet off the roadway, landing upside down, according to fire officials.

EMS and fire crews arrived on the scene and used hydraulic tools to eventually work the driver free. This was made more difficult by the wooded area where the car landed, and the position the car was in, officials said.
It took about 20 minutes to free the driver. He was then evaluated by first responders on the scene and transported to a trauma center.

The condition of the victim is not yet known. Crews were on the scene for about 90 minutes, according to fire officials.
Royersford Fire Department was assisted by Liberty Fire Company and the Upper Providence Township Police Department.
