The Oaks Neighbors Association (www.oaksneighbors.org) is hosting a “Meet the Candidates” event on Tuesday, November 1 at 7pm at Green Tree Church, 1078 Egypt Road, in Upper Providence Township. Both candidates for the open position of Upper Providence Township Supervisor, Lisa Mossie, Republican, and George Farris, Democrat, have been invited and have confirmed their attendance.
The event will be moderated so questions to one candidate can be fielded to the other with an opportunity for rebuttal, if appropriate.
Each candidate will be given time to introduce themselves before addressing questions from citizens.

Residents will have an opportunity to ask each candidate questions about their philosophy and vision of Township governance and the value they believe they will bring to the Board if elected.
The Oaks Neighbors Association is made up of residents of the greater Oaks area. “We feel it’s important to meet candidates face-to-face and let them express their commitments to the community,” said ONA member Adam Williams, “ONA is a non-partisan group, we’re all about good government, safe streets, responsible development, and maintaining the value of strong residential communities.”

Both the Republican and Democrat Committees for Upper Providence have been invited to support the meeting with their own efforts to bring out the voters for this unique event. “We’ve been told this is the first time that there has been a pre-election event for a Board of Supervisor’s election,” said organizer and Oaks Volunteer Gil Zimmerman.
