The following was sent in by Spring City Borough Councilman Jim Burns:

Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 16, has been chosen as the date that the Interact Club, a [] high school volunteer division of the Rotary Club, will be planting 2,000 spring flowering bulbs - including narcissus, daffodils and tulips - in 10 targeted Spring City locations.

Roughly 100 students will participate in the program between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The bulbs will be planted on borough and privately-owned lands that compliment the byways of the borough. Councilor James J. Burns has organized the project with the Interact Club and Respond with Love (www.respondwithlove.org) which donated the bulbs to the borough. The 10 sites will be mentioned later this month on the Borough’s official website www.SpringCityBoro.org.

"This is a great project," Burns said. "I am thankful for Respond with Love for their support."
